Final report on a pilot scheme to test the willingness of farmers to cultivate the commercial Nantes variety as well as the new AUA-108 variety of carrot. This study found that farmers preferred Nantes to AUA-108, because it is sweeter and has straighter and prettier roots.

Report on Carrot Variety Trial for the 2015 Main Crop Season (2015)

This report describes the comparative tests between the classic commercial Nantes and Alemaya University’s AUA-108 carrot varieties as a control, compared to carrot varieties from Turkey (DZARC-3 & DZARC-9), Afghanistan (DZARC-5), India (Deep Red) and Pakistan (Long Beauty). The DZARC-5 variety from Afghanistan was found to have the highest carotenoid content.

This report describes the comparative tests between the classic commercial Nantes and Alemaya University’s AUA-108 carrot varieties as a control, compared to carrot varieties from Turkey (DZARC-3 & DZARC-9), and Afghanistan (DZARC-5). The Afghan carrot was found to give the highest biomass yield, closely followed by Nantes and AUA-108.
